"The review about the spicy 'retaliation' is weird, because one time I went into Poom Thai with a friend, and our order was messed up. I have also been a regular for over two years. "We were regular customers for 2 years at Poom thai. In that time we ordered take out almost everyweek because of proximity to our home. Sometimes we dined in but the place has more fish tanks than people in the little restaurant so we mostly did take out. The food was good, spicy and cheap. One day we ordered food but they mixed up our order. Being a permanent customer, I thought they would gladly fix the mixed up order. But they asked us to bring the food back in order to fix it. That was a bit strange because we had already used up some rice. We brought the food back but they complained that food was half used and basically were rude to us. Then they made the new food so spicy that we could not eat a bite! Its like they were trying to get back at us for bringing back half of the food. I mean we eat a lot of spicy food so we can really handle spicy food but this had so much chili that there was no taste left and no one could eat it. When we asked them "why it was so spicy? " They simply ignored us and did not care. This happened over 3 days so it wasnt a isolated incident. We were not expecting such a bad customer service after being regular customers for 2 years. We didnt say anything to Poom thai and decided to never visit the restaurant again. If they care more about few pennies than a regular customer, then its best to avoid such a place. We would not recommend going there. There are many other good Thai restaurants in Santa Monica so visit them and avoid this place." - PR
